Due to numerous people asking us if there was a Fall workshop, we are moving our August workshop to September and changing it to a 3-day workshop. We can take advantage of the beautiful Colorado Fall with the changing of the aspens! This is also a price reduction!
Working from models, E. Melinda Morrison teaches the elements and foundations of painting: shape, line color, texture, edges and value to create harmony in painting and learning to paint what you see. This course prepares artists to expand their knowledge and stretch their skills in how they see/ Melinda will teach them how to approach their paintings with intention and purpose. Observing other artist works, providing demonstrations, painting critique and painting from life (models in plein air-weather permitting), Melinda guides the painter through the process of seeing light and understanding the properties of light and how it affects the whole subject. She strives to provide students with the tools to solve problems in their paintings in order to take their painting to the next level.
"I tell my students we are learning to paint what we see and paint the light based on different situations. We look at all the situational light and how that breaks down into defining composition, focus, edges, creating contrast and creating mood in your paintings."
This workshop is geared for the artist who has been painting for a couple of years and has some drawing skills. Daily activities will include demonstrations, critiques and painting from the model in studio and landscape. Either acrylics or oils can be used.
All workshop fees included model fees, a light breakfast and a and catered lunched each day. br />
